Select a cluster map for backup image file recovery

Each composition file (c0, c1, etc.) may contain one or multiple cluster maps for the corresponding backup image files. When Synology Active Backup Recovery processes a composition folder, it displays the found cluster maps in the list, along with their sizes. Each cluster map corresponds to a separate backup image file. In some cases, damaged metadata within a cluster map may result in incorrect backup image sizes. To resolve this issue, you can specify the correct size for the backup image file by selecting it from the list and entering the desired size. In addition, you can rename the backup image file by replacing the automatically generated name with a custom name that suits your needs.

Once you have selected the cluster maps for recovery, click Recover to start saving the backup image files to the target folder.

Set maximum backup image size

Given that cluster maps may be damaged or contain incorrect backup image sizes, Synology Active Backup Recovery software provides a feature to set a maximum backup image size for all backup image files in the list. This allows you to correct potential issues and ensure accurate recovery.

Revert size to original

Clicking this button resets the maximum backup image size to its original value, as determined by the cluster maps metadata.
